With a focus on underserved markets, Breakaway is bringing a premium 2-day EDM/Pop festival experience, featuring an ever-changing lineup of top artists, to where consumers live, work, and play.THE ROLEBreakaway is seeking a passionate and driven Market Manager based in Houston, TX, to lead and activate local promotional efforts in support of our brand and festival presence.
This role is critical in building regional awareness, cultivating relationships with local brand ambassadors, and executing community-based marketing strategies.
While not full-time, this role requires a flexible schedule and availability for online meetings, event execution, and field coordination.As a key member of our street marketing team, the Market Manager will be responsible for planning and overseeing local promotional events, managing ambassador teams, and expanding the Breakaway footprint throughout Houston.
The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, has strong communication and organizational skills, and is passionate about music, festivals, and
culture-driven marketing.RequirementsRESPONSIBILITIES: Targeted recruitment of active ambassadors in regional marketsPlanning and execution of promotional events in the market (club takeovers, social hours, meetups, workout classes, etc.)Curating a lineup of the most popular local and regional DJs to perform at the Silent Disco stage and promotional events in the marketOrganizing reliable street teams for flyering relevant events Assisting the college promotions coordinator in making connections with key people on regional campuses (Greek life, student organizations, groups of friends, etc.)Weekly research into locally relevant events to send street teaming repsCreate lasting relationships with relevant local businesses, promotional partners, and event venues that will help promote the festival (hang posters/flyers in their storefronts, run ticket giveaways for their email lists, etc.)Report to management weekly on all promotional initiatives, events, and efforts across the marketPlanning of various promotional events and activations in the market the week of the festival Manage Breakaway Market IG Account; supporting internal social team posting marketing campaigns, recapping events in real-time, community management, etc.QUALIFICATIONS: Conducting yourself in a professional manner at all times.
This includes in-market events not associated with Breakaway.
You will be the face of the company in these local markets and need to conduct yourself as suchRegular travel to surrounding markets for relevant events, recruiting, and to increase overall brand presenceMarket manager will be required to be on site the week of the festival, as seen fit by Promotions ManagerLineup drop party planned in the festival market and announced 2 weeks prior to the eventMinimum of 3 pre-parties/road to breakaway events in the month following lineup releaseRecruit 5 new active ambassadors per week, should not just be from the immediate festival market city but also the surrounding areas Outreach to 3 new potential regional business affiliates per weekAssist the marketing team in creating 2 social posts per month on the localized Instagram page Minimum of 1 street team activation per week
